Alumina is one of the most cost effective and widely used material in the family of engineered ceramics. The raw materials from which this high performance technical grade ceramic is made are readily available and reasonable priced, resulting in good value for the cost in fabricated alumina shapes.
Alumina Tiles Key Properties
- Very good wear resistance
- Excellent dielectric properties from DC to GHz frequencies
- Resists strong acid and alkali attack at elevated temperatures
- Good thermal conductivity
- Excellent size and shape capability
- High strength
High temperature applications
Alumina tiles can be applied by means of plug welding, the alumina tile has a hole in the centre which a steel concave ferrule is inserted in the hole and welding takes place through the steel ferrule to weld to steel casing, this hole is then plugged with an alumina button.
Available in purity ranges from 92% to 99.8% for the most demanding applications.
